Belgravia, London (6,458 sq /ft)

This Georgian townhouse retains its Regency glamour but includes sympathetically-incorporated modern features including a cinema room, state-of-the-art gym and two-car subterranean garage. Modern art and rare marble are standout features.

The entrance hall is one of the property’s most beautiful spaces: it’s bright and open; complemented by monochrome accents including black and white marble flooring. Traditional lathe and plaster features are showcased here, alongside contemporary paintings and thoughtful mid-century lighting.

Alongside the gym, the cinema, a bespoke, generously proportioned wine cellar and the garage, the lower ground floor also boasts staff quarters, with private access.

We were keen to retain as much heritage detailing as possible paying special attention to original cornicing - or in the case of the first-floor powder room incorporating the curved of what was once the window frame into the door.

This is a house of surprises, which include hidden powder rooms, well-stocked bars and even a library with custom made shelving.

The dining room is stately and spacious enough to entertain 12 guests against a dramatic backdrop of the midnight blue Chinese lacquered back wall that encompasses the original timber-carved fireplace. Modern practical amenities, such as the air-conditioning unit has been neatly and completely concealed.
